Today I finally contacted Rian! Phew. This has been the hardest part of the project so far. When I told him about the project over the phone, he said it sounded very interesting and that he was keen to help! He also told me that he should be more than qualified to help me in this field, as his department at the weather station sends weather balloons up twice a day, so he should be able to help me streamline my process.
Unfortunately I called him when he was busy, so he said he would send me the details on Monday. I will wait for him to get back to me and then set up a meeting with Nick (my internal mentor).
I have decided to cease searching for different camera equipment and high altitude photography equipment prices for the time being, as I would rather wait until I understand the project a bit better once I have had a chance to talk to Rian. I don’t want to waste time searching for something that may not be used at all or is completely irrelevant to the project.
In the meantime, I will explore other avenues for the project that are not bound by any equipment, such as publicity, funding, thinking about my presentation and speech, etc. I am doing as much as I can now, as I will have to take about a month or two off for the plays.
