I haven’t been able to do much, if anything, today as these plays are ruthless! I’m starting to think I underestimated the amount of work needed for them. It looks like I might need to put the project on a complete hold when the going gets rough with them.
Anyway, back to the project… I was thinking about the funding of it. Seeing as I’m broke, there is no way I will be able to fund the project myself on a student budget, unless I find a job soon and start earning mega bucks.
My parents said they would be willing to partially help me out, provided I pay them back. This, I will leave to a last resort, as I want to see if I can fund it completely self-sufficiently.
I was chatting to my uncle Matthew, and he suggested I see if I could start some kind of crowd funding for the project. He lived for a while in the States where crowd funding is apparently is quite big. He suggested I check out Kickstarter as it is the biggest platform for this sort of thing.
I am very skeptical of this actually working, especially in the time frame, and I’m not sure something like this would work in South Africa, or if it’s even supported here. However, it certainly doesn’t hurt to try, and maybe it could actually work, and my entire project could be crowdfunded. That would be pretty insane. I will look into it and see what my options are.
I will be skydiving tomorrow as part of a Scouting qualification, so I won’t be journaling at all. I will try and look up equipment prices on Monday and hopefully get around to calling Rian! I was meant to call him today, but I just keep procrastinating. This has to end…
