During school today I had a long talk with classmate Kerstin about the class 12 projects and the journals. She showed me her brother’s journals which were bound, embossed and very impressive to look at. The books gave me inspiration to make something as good, if not better for mine. The embossing was a nice touch, which is what I want to do as well. Kerstin told me how he did it, which once known is a very simply process.
During our conversation Kerstin showed off her journal thus far, and it is impressive. Really impressive. She was working all through the holidays on it and it shows. She told me that she logged everything that she did and made notes on a daily basis, and convinced me to do the same, hence my first entry. Looking at how much she had done in such a short timeframe was inspiring, so I will do my best to do the same. In the long run I suppose it will be best, as I will be able to look back and recall the memory a lot better than trying to piece together something that was not recorded.
I wanted to somehow link the first entry to the inception of the project, when I watched that YouTube video for the first time. I tried to remember what I was doing on that day, and what it was that was ultimately caused me to choose this path. When digging through my browser history, to my disappointment the date had been deleted, leaving me with no real reason as to what started the idea, except for a faded memory that I cannot quite remember.
This sad state of affairs has taught me one thing: keep a log of EVERYTHING. Not just for this project, but for life in general, as what you think useless now may one day prove invaluable. It is for this reason that I will do my best to keep an accurate and current log, so that if ever I am to look back on it, I will remember it.
